Reflective Blog...

Reflecting about teaching has been shown to be very effective as a method of improving teaching. In 30 day CELT course for High school teachers of Kerala, we will use a blog as the framework for weekly reflections on the course. A blog can be used for many purposes, but it is essentially a way of posting ideas organized by time. Others can offer comments on the ideas - and you will be expected to read the reflective blogs by other participants and comment on at least one other person's blog each week.
Your weekly reflection on what you did, what you learned, and how you might apply the ideas in your teaching will give you a way of reinforcing the ideas from each week and of looking back through the course. Your blog is yours to keep after the course is finished.
Blog Assignment
Please go through the handout for creating a blog. Follow the instructions and create a blog at www.blogger.com.  Every week, you should add at least one comment to your blog, reflecting on what you did and learned that week and how you might apply it to your classes. Make sure you include the week in the title of your post each week. Remember that you can go back and edit your post if you would like to do so.
Each week, read the blogs of a few of the other participants and comment on at least one other person's blog. Your blog will be an ongoing record of what you are doing in the course and your reflections. At the end of the course, you will be able to look back and create a summary post that gives an overview of what you have done and what it means to you.
