Our Observations

Dear All,

31 of the Kerala participants are following the blog. But most of them are interested only in joining the discussion thread on ICT. That is fine... But there are a few interesting articles in the blog about language teaching and issues related to the classrooms. Please read the articles and relate the ideas in them to your classroom context. You can also tell others how the insights from these articles are useful for you as English as a second languge teacher. Moreover, nobody has attempted a reflective blog so far???

Please write a blog posting detailing what you have learnt, how the experience in RIESI is unique and what are you going to do in future in your classroom, based on your learning experience at the Institute?

Please attempt reflective blog postings....

  2. RIE is doing a good job. If we are positive, we ahave everywhere lots of lessons for refingning ourselves. RIE faculties, especially the veterans, speak to our souls to humanise our career so the the teaching learning process become more and more lively and effective. As a participant once again attending the one-month training programme, after the three-month traing of 2005 at RIESI, I do realize the uptated insightful lessons for the better days to come in our lives to prove the consequences of the training. The faculties who are novice to the field are really promises for the future; they are also doing their responsibilities well and good. Many of the faculties maintain smiling faces which emit positive energy to keep on us lively to follow the points. It's highly commendable that the participants of today are qualitiatively far better than the earlier ones. All the best wishes for the visionaries who venture the mission. Thank you and God Bless.

  6. Dear all
It is really enlightening to know that you all are using the internet space provided by RIESI fruitfully. It is a thing the Kerala teachers can do once they come back home. Create a blog and post insightful discussion points or even lesson plans for other fellow teachers to read and comment. I hope you you all will use this empowerment programme fruitfully and take the messages in the real sense once you are back in schools. The question every empowerment programme raises is if you can help the learners (especially the slow learners) in a more effective way by virtue of the programme. A team of teachers committed to their real goals will make all the difference. Hope you all will be coming back to Kerala with great models and methods of teaching that will engage the learners in meaningful enquiry instead of the banking model of teaching many practice. Wish you all the best.
