About RIESI, Bengaluru

RIESI, OFFICE
The Regional Institute of English, South India, Bengaluru embodies the spirit of collectivism and collaboration to create an institution of excellence. It was a dream, dreamt by the visionaries of the four southern states that have shared a common culture and a tradition of pursuit of excellence in learning. When the Institute thus came into existence, it epitomized the futuristic vision of the education directorates and ministries of the four southern states that foresaw the need for raising the benchmark of quality of English langauge teaching that would, on the one hand strengthen the competence of every learner across the curriculum and on the other catalyse a process of quality improvement in all the aspects of school education. To realize this lofty and worthy dream, the four southern states came toegether and resolved to nurture, support and guide the growth of the Institute as a premier body of teacher training, research and empowerment.

Over the years RIESI has grown into an institution that commands respect and recognition in the ELT circles not only within the country but also abroad. 1. Jayaraj Sir, I think certain technical aspects are also important. Teachers should be aware of all the complexities of the online learning environment. You know we face a lot of difficulties. Scheduling the access to the computer, malfunctioning of the hardware and software and problems with the student schedules are some of them. Finally, I think teachers have to give necessary support to the students. They should not leave everything to the computer instructor. I have often seen that most of the teacher participants are often confused by Internet and web-based materials. I think computer instructor has to work with the teacher.

Anyway, I am also happy that discussion in the thread is going fine.

  3. Hello Sir , This is Nagaraju from VIZIANAGARAM of ANDHRA PRADESH who had undergone a one month training (12-9-11 to 11-10-11 ). I am very much grateful to all the faculty members for feeding me with some of the knowledge grains regarding all aspects of english class room. But during the one month, we had got only 15 days of instruction for which i am very much disappointed. The usual 3 month course had been reduced to 1 month and even in that one month we got so many holidays which may be compensated by increasing the hours per a day or by extending the program for some more days.
My humble request to all the board members of RIESI is to please have an eye on the list of holidays whenever the program is going to be designed.Because we people will come with heavy expectations and thirst to learn something leaving all the family members at home with difficulty.

    Thanking you sir
    Nagaraju (fisherman,dancer)
